Message from the President
Let me start our 2023-2024 Pflugerville Education Foundation year by thanking you for entrusting me with a second year as Board President. It is such an honor to serve with a cadre of individuals so dedicated to the success of public education. And what an opportunity for all of us: We get to work together to empower our teachers and kids to soar!
Last year we grew both our Board (from 24 to 28 members) and our financial impact for PfISD. However, there is always more work to be done. We all know that public education continues to struggle because of failures in State Funding. Our job is to do what we can to circumvent those funding challenges by augmenting the District’s resources. Our plan is to expand on last year’s successes by:
- Surpassing the financial impact of previous years;
- Continuing and expanding our mission of funding and sustaining innovative teaching strategies via grants;
- Expanding our business and corporate partnerships, as well as our individual donors; and
- Raising public awareness of the challenges faced by public education, the Foundation’s role in combating those challenges, and seeking creative funding solutions.
Like in past years, we have our work cut out for us. But we also enjoy a highly spirited team with an equally high passion to serve. We will continue to provide support to PfISD schools through fundraising events, e.g., our annual OctoberTailGate on the Tees Golf Tournament, the November Bloom Women’s Luncheon and the February 2024 Gala. We will expand our multiple partnerships. We will continue to grow community participation in and financial support for the Foundation’s work.
So once again, it is time to roll up our sleeves and get to work! Our 2023-24 Board will guarantee that we will soar toward this year’s goal of Empowering our Teachers and Students to Succeed. Thank you for investing in the Pflugerville Education Foundation.
Here's to a great year ahead,
Pflugerville Education Foundation
