Purpose
The purpose of this grant is to provide financial support for all current PfISD educators pursuing additional educational certification and/or educational related degrees at the university level. PEF believes that we should address the challenges of our current and future society in order to produce strong thinkers and decision makers. Ensuring well-prepared educators is critical to this endeavor.
Requirements
The Utley Scholarship is sponsored by Dan and Debby Utley founded on the principles of:
- a desire to contribute to a strong public education system; and,
- an awareness of the value of ongoing professional learning for educators.
Total funding is $1,000, and this scholarship is awarded in the spring of each year.
- Must be a current Pflugerville ISD educator with at least one full year of employment.
- Have two or more years of classroom teaching experience (at any campus or within the district).
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree (certified teachers only).
- Commitment to enroll in an accredited college, university, or educational certification program to pursue an additional degree or certification.
- Selected recipients may re-apply once for the scholarship.
